Today, I decided to try the “5 AM That Girl routine” – but in a realistic way.
For the people who have already lost count of all the new trends that were showing up, let me explain it to you.
What is “That Girl“?
If you are confused right now about who I am talking, so no, I’m not talking about a specific person, at least not a real one:)
That girl is an internet-made-up PERFECT LifeStyle – aesthetic, organized, healthy, basically perfect!
If you want to become That Girl, you need to follow her habits & personality traits.
That girl wakes up early, exercises daily, eats healthy- mostly lives on greens, always wants to know more, works hard, and has an aesthetic appearance.
So, after you know what exactly is “That Girl” LifeStyle, the question is if all of these habits are good for us? And more importantly, healthy? Let me tell you, it depends.
Agreed. Some of these habits can be unhealthy, BUT some are great for those who wish to become more organized and productive.
Below, I have shared my version of how to realistically become “That Girl”.
After I’ve figured out the best routine for me, I encourage you to find your own, too!
Meanwhile, you can look at my “That Girl” routine and take some ideas for yours!
How I become “That Girl“?
the night before
As we all know, being prepared is the key. So, the first thing I did was to choose my outfit for the next day. And no, I don’t mean just deciding what to wear while standing in front of the closet. I mean physically taking out the clothes and placing them in front of me. Once I had my outfit ready, I set an alarm for 5 AM (which is going to be crucial).
the early morning
This morning, I woke up at 5 AM, and I actually liked it. 🙂 Be awake when the world is still asleep – it has its own magic. What can I say, I am a morning person, so this part wasn’t the hardest as I expected. If you wish to become a morning lover like me, check out my post “how to become a morning person” – It provides tips and tricks to help you start your day right.
journaling
Journaling plays a big part in this whole aesthetic. A quick search online will show you many types of journal notebooks.
After turning off my alarm, I opened my notebook and wrote down 3 things I am grateful for, 3 goals for the day, and my quote for the day.
Btw if you are new to journaling, go check out my journal worksheet, which gets updated every morning with a new “quote of the day” that inspires and helps you journal the best
day plan
Lately, I have been really into planning out my day, and I have to say, it has been a game-changer for me! Ever since I started doing this, I feel way more organized and I am able to manage my time better for all the things that I need to do.
I recommend getting a daily planner that has enough space for you to write out your activities for each hour.
I sat down and planned out my day. But sometimes, if I had enough time, I would do this the night before so I could take a look at my schedule in the morning and remember what I needed to do that day.
reading a book
That girl always wants to know more, and books are her way to do so – knowledge is power!
Although I’m not a big fan of reading, I try my best. A book should keep me interested if I’m going to read it.
I’ve been reading for about 15 from my book “One Of Us Is Next” – I decided to read this book after watching the series. I will keep you updated on my progress.
workout
Oh, I have been waiting for that part, my workout.
I love to work out, especially in the mornings as it fills me with joy and the best energy to start my day on the right side.
For my workout, I did 15 min abs and 15 min yoga & stretch – the best combination.
Even if you are not a sporty person, don’t worry; 10 minutes of yoga, Pilates, or even some morning stretching will make you feel the change.
breakfast
When I finished my workout, my stomach was already craving some food. So I headed to the kitchen.
Usually, that girl would make a green smoothie, but I’m sorry. That’s not going to happen.
I decided to make my favorite breakfast in the whole world, which is my famous avocado toast (click here to find out how to make it).
That was delicious!
get ready
After I ate my delicious breakfast, I took a shower and got ready for my day.
Instead of wasting in front of my closet for hours figuring out what to wear, I already had the outfit I chose last night. That just saved me tons of time!
skin care
Investing in skincare is important for that girl. When I got back home after a busy day, I took a quick shower, put on my comfy pajamas, and went through my skincare routine.
It’s one of the most relaxing things to do after a long day.
dinner
Of course, I was hungry by that time, so I decided to make myself a chicken salad.
The salad was so delicious that I enjoyed every bite.
reflect & go to sleep
Lately, I have been trying something new that is perfect for that girl routine.
Before bed, I take a few minutes to reflect on the “light of the day”.
It’s a simple activity where I think about everything that happened during the day, such as the people I interacted with, the activities I engaged in, and one person who made my day special. This person could be anyone who lit up my day, like a friend who complimented me, a person who was kind to me, or even a barista who made me an amazing coffee in the morning.
After this activity, I feel more relaxed and often go straight to sleep.
What did I think about it?
I have to admit, I kinda enjoyed it. But this is definitely not something I could do every day, and it’s definitely not for everyone.
Some days, you just want to stay cozy in bed in the morning, or maybe you won’t follow the healthy meals or even won’t feel like exercising. And that is totally OK! This routine may not be suitable for everyone!
But, for the people who are wheeling to try that, my recommendation is to adapt the routine to your LifeStyle. What do I mean by that?
I’m basically telling you that not every “That Girl” routine that you see online is the best for you too.
For example – if you know that getting up at 5 AM will get you tired and unproductive throughout the day, Don’t force yourself to get up that early. You can start your day at 7 or 8, too. Or if you really want to get up that early, make sure to get some nap time in your day to recharge:)
That’s all for now!
